SYNOPSIS
This project involved designing a book cover for a fictional story titled Fall From Grace, which follows a queen who is banished from her kingdom. Using Adobe Photoshop, I aimed to evoke a medieval and regal atmosphere that reflects the story’s themes. To achieve this, I applied a gold texture to the title to suggest royalty and wealth, paired with a medieval-style font that enhances the historical feel. The cover background features a textured paper effect, reinforcing the old-world aesthetic. The central image of a woman removing her crown visually represents the queen’s fall from power and status.

I began by gathering images from Unsplash and was fortunate to find one that perfectly fit my vision. A woman placing a crown on her head. Interestingly, the gesture could also be interpreted as someone removing a crown, which worked well with the theme of Fall From Grace. I also collected gold and paper textures to enhance the regal and aged aesthetic. To give the cover a painterly feel, I painted over the image and smudged areas for a softer, artistic effect. I chose a medieval-style font for the title, created a custom floral decal for added flair, and finished the piece with a decorative border and author details.

As the final part of the assignment, I transformed the image into an animated advertisement by creating a GIF version in Photoshop.
